Quick Answer:

Patients searching for a dentist near Sevierville TN can choose Elite Smiles in Knoxville for comprehensive preventive, restorative, and cosmetic dental care. We focus on careful diagnosis, clear treatment planning, and continuity of care for patients who value the right dental practice even when it requires a longer drive.

Dentist Near Sevierville TN

The closest dental office isn’t always the right dental office. For routine care, convenience matters. But when you’re choosing a dentist you may rely on for years, other factors deserve just as much attention. You want a team that explains what they see, gives you clear treatment options, watches changes over time, and can handle more than a basic cleaning when your needs change.

For patients looking for a dentist near Sevierville TN, Elite Smiles provides comprehensive dental care from our Knoxville office. For some Sevierville patients, that means a longer drive. The question is whether the quality and continuity of care make that drive worthwhile.

What Makes a Dentist Worth Traveling For?

Most patients don’t want to keep changing dental offices every time they need something different. A practice may start by handling routine exams and cleanings, but your needs can change quickly. A cracked tooth may need treatment. An old filling may fail. Gum health may change. You may eventually want to improve the appearance of your smile.

When one dental team understands your history, your previous treatment, and the condition of your teeth over time, they can make better-informed decisions.

That continuity can become especially valuable when a problem isn’t obvious. A dentist who has watched a tooth for several years may notice that a crack has changed. They may see that an older restoration has started to weaken the surrounding enamel. They can compare current X-rays with earlier images rather than looking at one isolated snapshot.

Good Treatment Planning Starts Before Treatment

Dentistry shouldn’t begin with a procedure. It should begin with a diagnosis. If a tooth hurts, your dentist first needs to determine why. A cavity, cracked tooth, inflamed nerve, failing restoration, bite problem, or gum issue can create similar symptoms, but each one requires a different solution.

The same principle applies when a tooth doesn’t hurt.

A dentist may find decay during a routine exam before you notice any symptoms. If enough healthy tooth remains, a filling may solve the problem. If decay or an existing restoration has weakened more of the tooth, a crown may offer better protection.

We need to understand the condition of the tooth and choose an option that gives it a strong chance of remaining functional.

Preventive Dentistry Gives You More Choices

Patients often think preventive dentistry means cleanings. Cleanings matter, but prevention goes further.

Routine visits give your dental team opportunities to monitor the gums, check existing restorations, look for early decay, evaluate changes in your bite, and identify areas of wear or fracture. Those findings can affect the treatment you need later.

Catching a cavity while it remains small may mean placing a filling instead of rebuilding a much larger portion of the tooth. Identifying gum inflammation early may help you address the cause before periodontal disease damages the tissues that support your teeth.

In dentistry, earlier information often creates more options.

What If You Already Need Dental Work?

Not everyone starts with a clean slate. You may already have fillings, crowns, bridges, or other restorations. Those restorations still need regular evaluation because the natural tooth around them can change.

A crown can remain strong while decay develops near its edge. A large filling can function well for years before the surrounding tooth begins to crack. Gum recession may expose areas that become more sensitive or more difficult to keep clean.

Restorative care isn’t just about repairing something after it breaks. It also involves deciding when an older restoration still works well and when replacing it makes more sense.

Cosmetic Goals Should Still Start With Oral Health

Some patients travel for dental care because they want more than basic maintenance. If staining, worn teeth, chips, spacing, or older dental work affects your smile, cosmetic treatment may help.

But appearance shouldn’t override health. A dentist should first evaluate the teeth and gums, understand the condition of existing restorations, and identify any problems that could affect the long-term result.

That foundation helps patients choose cosmetic options that make sense instead of simply chasing a different look.

Common Questions From Sevierville Patients

Is Knoxville too far to travel for routine dental care?

That depends on what you value in a dental practice. Some patients prefer the closest available office. Others choose to travel farther because they want continuity, a broader range of care, or a dental team they trust.

How often should I schedule dental checkups?

Many patients benefit from exams and professional cleanings about every six months. Your dentist may recommend a different interval based on your gum health, cavity risk, medical history, and existing dental work.

Can I get a second opinion on dental treatment?

Yes. If another dentist has recommended significant treatment and you want another perspective, a second evaluation can help you better understand the condition of the tooth and your available options.

Should I wait until a tooth hurts before making the drive?

No. Pain often develops after a dental problem has already progressed. Routine exams can identify many concerns before they become uncomfortable.

I cannot say thank you enough to Dr. Block and his staff. I had to have a root canal two weeks ago and they got me in within 24 hours of scheduling. He was incredibly professional and caring for everything I had to say. I never had a cavity before, let alone a root canal. My teeth are incredibly sensitive and he paid extreme condition with me being pregnant of what he could and couldn’t do for me. After my appointment, I found out that I needed another root canal after a normal cavity filling did not work at my general dentist. I had an extreme emergency. I couldn’t sleep at night because I was in so much pain. I didn’t know what to do, so I called Dr. Block and he said he would get me in the next day. Despite him being fully booked, he still saw me and performed a root canal. I would highly recommend him to anyone and am so thankful for the work he did. I’m going thru one of the worst seasons of my life outside of these teeth issues, and it’s so comforting to know there are specialists that care about people because they are in need. Thank you, Dr. Block for everything. I’m thanking the Lord this evening for guiding your hands and giving you the ability to help people. I hope you were able to finally have some lunch after your shift and some rest. It is well deserved!

Went here Saturday 1-3-2026 for an emergency tooth extraction from a tooth that was making me so sick. All the people here are SO caring and professional I don't know what I would've done without them being open on Saturday, quite literally they saved my life. Best dentist I've ever visited, highly recommend!!!

I have always had the biggest fear of dentists. I had a terrible tooth infection, and they were able to get me in as a new client the very next day (right before thanksgiving!) I wish I had the name of the nurse who sat with me, played music, gave me graham crackers, and held my hand throughout the entire experience. So incredibly grateful for these guys.

I had my first big dental procedure here this week, and the assistant for the procedure, Nina, did the absolute most in making me less anxious, reassuring me throughout the procedure, and explaining everything to me without judgement. Her kindness and care made me comfortable and safe.

I waited with a bad tooth until it was throbbing up to my ear. They took me in as a new patient in less than 2 hours. The front desk staff were friendly and efficient. At triage, DeeDee was welcoming & understanding. Dr. Harris is top notch - he put me at ease with caring comments, then made sure I had a pain-free extraction. He was so efficient that I didn't even realize when the tooth was out. Detailed care instructions were given and I left feeling much better than I felt going in!

Dr. Miller and his assistant ((her name started with a K, I am terrible at names) that saw me Saturday were absolutely phenomenal in every way. Kindness and projecting a safety and secureness that I have not experienced in 10 or 15 years at a dentist office. Elite Smiles, these two individuals are not replaceable. You can fake alot of things, but true human kindness and decency is not able to be reproduced. He explained every single thing he did in my mouth and also executed the procedure in a timely manner and his assistant matched his care in every single way. I have been coming here for about 3 years now. I have had great experiences with everyone I've seen, however, this past Saturday was an EPIC dentist visit I have only gotten to experience maybe twice in my lifetime. Thanks and every single one of you are AWESOME 👌 I WILL NEVER GO ANYWHERE ELSE. PERIOD At triage, DeeDee was welcoming & understanding. Dr. Harris is top notch - he put me at ease with caring comments, then made sure I had a pain-free extraction. He was so efficient that I didn't even realize when the tooth was out. This review is for my cleaning on 7/24/2025 with Andi (the lady from California). Background - due to some things that transpired in my life, I was broke and couldn’t go to the dentist for 8 years. When my situation changed, I went to see Dr. Chad Lasperowski in NoVA and I explained to them why I hadn’t been, and they treated me great. In fact, their practice does the Washington Redskins/Commanders. Anyway, first rate service. This is my 3rd time coming to Elite Smiles. The first time was ok, but the 2nd time I was in and out in like 20 minutes and I assumed that my teeth didn’t have a great deal of buildup. But today, Andi showed me the pictures of my teeth and it’s clear that the lady who did my cleaning on my 2nd visit, who didn’t take pictures and I saw today, rushed me out of there without being thorough. So today, when we started, Andi was doing the things that Dr. Kasperowski did. Put numbing stuff on my gums, explained everything and asked questions…..first rate service. At the end of the cleaning I made my next appointment with Andi and asked for her cell so if she left, I’d follow her. She told me she couldn’t do that as it is illegal so I shared my experience with Lisa both at the counter and via phone call. Bottom line…..KEEP ANDI!! She is THE BEST!!! I don’t want to drive 6 hours back to DC as I did for 2 years but I will. Dr. Hafner and Dr. Alani are exceptional dentists — both are highly knowledgeable and genuinely take the time to listen and provide thoughtful, personalized care.
